Ans. Cutoff for MAT is the minimum marks required by a candidate to get shortlisted for the subsequent selection rounds. Each college releases its separate MAT Cut off each year. It is released in the form of marks.
Ques. What is MAT Composite Score and how is it calculated?
Ans. While the total marks of MAT Paper are 200, colleges carve out the composite scores from 800. MAT Score represents the relative position of a candidate w.r.t. other candidates. For e.g.: percentile score of 95 means that there are 95% of candidates below, whose scores are lesser.
Each MAT score-report contains six scores: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Sufficiency, Reasoning Ability (ranging from 0 to 100), Composite Score (199 to 801) and General Awareness (a separate score card on a scale from 0 to 100). Check MAT Exam Pattern
But the composite score is decided upon the first four sections only. This is so because these sections talk about specific skills that one acquires over a long period of time. AIMA assigns equal weightage to these sections. The scores were defined in a way that a score of about 50 in a section and about 500 on the composite scale represent the average performance of that group.
