The NDA  is basically the joint services academy of Indian Armed Forces, in which the candidates  for  the three major services, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force are trained  together. NDA  is also known as the world’s first TRI-SERVICE ACADEMY.

REGISTRATION FOR NDA EXAM 2019:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the official notification for NDA 2019 Exam. As per the official notification announced, NDA  2019 exam is going to be held on April 21, 2019. The exam is going to be held for admission of  Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA for 143rd course in Army and Navy and 105th Naval Academy Course starting from January 2, 2020.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NDA EXAM 2019

The  eligibility criteria for the candidates  willing to appear for NDA Exam 2019 is going to be evaluated on the basis of following categories:.

As per Nationality:
Apart from Indian origin, candidates from other countries are also eligible for NDA 2019. For the same the candidate must  be either a

An Indian citizen

A  Bhutan citizen,

A  Nepal citizen

Tibetan refugees who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to appear for NDA 2019.

The Indians  migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the motive of  permanently settling in India are also eligible to appear for NDA 2019 exam.

Note: The candidate from other countries other than India must have  a certificate of eligibility issued by the Indian Government .

 Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 16.5 years

Maximum Age: 19.5 years

The bith date is to be  be calculated as mentioned on the 10th  or  12th School Leaving Certificate or in a Certificate issued  by an Indian University as equivalent to 10th.

 Educational Qualification:
Army Wing of National Defence Academy: The Candidates willing to apply for Indian Army must possess a class 12/HSC in 10+2 pattern of School Education or equal exam conducted by the State Education Board or any recognised University.

Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy: The Candidates willing to apply for Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy must possess a class 12/HSC in 10+2 pattern of School Education with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or any recignised University.

 Physical standard:

Candidates willing to appear for NDA 2019 must be physically and mentally fit and fine, according to the prescribed physical standards of the conducting authority i.e. SSB (Services Selection Board). A candidate is suggested  by the SSB that he should go for  a medical examination test  by a Board of Service Medical Officers.

The candidate must possess a good physical and mental health and should be free from any disease/disability which is likely to interfere with the efficient and effective  performance of Military duties. The candidates once get selected are also provided an effective military training by the authority .

Minimum height required is 157 cm for Army, Navy and Naval Academy and  162.5 cm for Air Force. A leverage of 5 cm is provided to Gorkhas and individuals who belongs to the hills of North-Eastern regions.

Other Factors:
Marital Sex: Candidates must be unmarried in order to appear for the NDA Exam 2019.

Gender: Only MALE candidates are eligible to apply for NDA Exam 2019.

 

APPLICATION FEE FOR NDA EXAM 2019:

  • Candidates have to pay the application fee through debit/credit card and SBI net banking.
  • Fee payment can also be done through challan of SBI bank.
  • The charges for NDA application form is  100/-.
  • SC/ST candidates, Sons of JCOs, NCOs & Ors all are relieved from the payment of application form.

 

PATTERN FOR NDA EXAM 2019:

Type of Questions: There will be objective type questions asked in the examination.

Pattern: The questions will be asked in the OMR pattern.

Mode: The exam will be conducted in pen and paper based mode (offline Mode).

Answering Mode: Candidates should  use black ball pen for  answering . Avoid using Ink pen or pencil.

Exam Duration: 2.5 hours will be given for each code, i.e. Code 1 (mathematics) and Code 2 (general ability test).

Mode of Language: The medium of the exam will be set  in English as well as in Hindi.

Negative Marking: 0.33 % marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

SYLLABUS FOR NDA EXAM 2019:

Mathematics:

Concept of set, operations on sets, Vein diagrams, types of matrices, operations on matrices, determinant of a matrix, trigonometrical ratios, trigonometric identities sum and difference formulae, distance formula. equation of a line in various forms, angle between two lines, distance of a point from a line, equation of a circle in standard and in general form, composite functions, one to one, onto and inverse functions, notion of limit, standard limits, etc.

GAT (General Aptitude Test):

English: Vocabulary, grammar and usage, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English. It tests the candidate’s understanding of English and use of words.

General Knowledge: This section includes  topics from the physics, chemistry, general science, geography, current events, history, freedom movement, etc.
